Hell No President Bush
Bush Strives for a Legacy: Fighting AIDS in Africa President Expected to Call on Congress to Spend $30 Billion to Help President Bush will call on Congress on Wednesday to spend $30 billion over the next five years to combat AIDS in Africa, double the amount he called for in his 2003 State of the Union address. In a Rose Garden news conference, he will also announce that the First Lady will embark on a 4-nation Africa trip on June 25-29. Watch President Bush announce AIDS initiative live at 1:10pm EDT on ABC news now With the president increasingly isolated by the Iraq war, and facing all-time low approval ratings, the White House is viewing Africa as a place where Bush can claim a legacy. By the end of 2008, the U.S. will have spent more than $18 billion fighting AIDS in Africa since his 2003 State of the Union, treating about 1 million people ///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////// not just no but hell no mr bush this is the president that vetoed the stem cell research bill for a cure to als. this is the president that vetoed the $25 million for the als registry to help in the cure for als. so send your congress a email today and tell them not just no but hell no mr president it's our turn, it's pals turn. Bobby Brannigan dx/94 ALS PALS = PEOPLE WITH ALS |
Millions of people are left with the legacy of Aids left behind by those who die from the disease.
Thousands of the children of tomorrow are already infected. Sorry Bobby as you know I have had Aids in my family and he died from it. Aids and Als and Cancer. Where would I chose the money to go. Where else but to save the the children. No choice for me I vote good on him. I never want to see the day the 'Cure' for anything will come on the back of another disease. But keep little Laura home where she seems to belongs she will be useless. |
sorry about your loss's thelma.
this is about the money that when it leaves america on it's way to the children in need of it. how much will make it there? 3 strikes and your out. how many more strikes are you going to give this president?? he gets a hit now and then but they all went foul. |
You ae right in the assumptionof how much will make it there. But to not try is a high moral issue and I don't know wether he will do it even. Not a man to keep his word. But he is a politician and his legacy is obviouly up front in his mind.
There have been many fiascos put out there for the general public to pay the price for in my lifetime. The wars have been at the top of the list. All of them started by greed in one form or another. For material goods demanded by us all and the oil we need a major inflence in that greed. It's taking us to the last stand that humankind may not survive and that is the poisoning of our natural resources such as farming lands and water. Far be it that we are killing ourselves but the greed in which we are holding back progress on medicines to cure the hurts of this world will see our demise as caring humans for generations to come. up here in Canada we, that is my family, are involved in the arts and movie industry and when I see that which is giving us a living and see what we produce through the eyes of the children of today I feel guilty as hell as well. We are in a vicios time now and to not take that which is good is like saying we have given up on ourselves. So take his blood monies and if any gets through say thanks for it because in the long run Bobby there relly is no empathy from him, just money. So take what you can get. He is on his way out and if we are to ever get our priorities straight there will have to be someone come along that can do it for us as our choices for years have not been good ones. Whatever the case all I hope for is that behind the political aspirations lies a human being that is caring and shows in hi or her decisions the concern for the average person. I don't believe we will ever see into their heart but maybe just maybe there is a hidden part as there was with this man and the good then will triumph at last. I am looking for the invisible to make itself visible. We are all different inside from that which we portray on the outside for all of the stupid reasons we have had to learn to protect ourselves from criticism and hurts from others. Your a good man Robert and it is a damn shame that you have been held back by ALS or has it made you ............our invisable man Take care of YOU and YOURS and all else will fall into it's rightfull place. Boy I used that saying for years on BT and now it is beginning to ring much clearer to me |
I'm also sorry about your loss Thelma...but I wouldn't trust this President to do anything right.

Well, somebody new will be in office soon ..
What sickens me is the lack of funding for ALS period..95 million per year by the gov't ...how much is spent on war ? ..Lisa |
