Migraine from CPAP?

Anyone get—or heard/read of getting—migraines from/after using their CPAP machines?

Lately when I wake/get up in the morning I'm fine, but within minutes after taking off the mask I start getting a migraine. If I can't/don't knock it out quick with an abortive, it goes through the whole 6+ hr. cycle (tons-o-fun ).

Rebound has been ruled out; definitely related to more than 4-6 hours of CPAP usage.

Out of curiosity, anyone know how to turn down the pressure on one of these things? Wondering if too high a pressure is the problem, but the pressure has been the same for years, the machine is working fine, and the migraine problem is relatively new.

Tanx,

Doc

You will not be able to change the settings on your CPAP. However, since you have been using a CPAP for years it would probably be a good idea to be re-evaluated to see if changes are needed for your CPAP settings. It's quite easy and should not involve another sleep study, at least mine did not ;) There is a small medical device, the name escapes me, which you attaché to your finger when you go to sleep and the readings from that will give your Dr. information as to if your CPAP needs to be increased or decrease.

I was moved to a Bi-Pap

I had been using a CPAP with huidifier, and I was constantly waking up with headaches, and sometimes migraines as well. My neurologist ran another sleep study on me, and I've been moved to a Bi-Pap with humidifier for two weeks, and no headaches.
