Is there a Drop Foot Thread Forum? sorta long..sorry
 I've spent about an hr. looking around for something about Drop Foot. I have many things wrong with me but this is my issue of the month since I've fallen 4 times so far and the month is new! I already have an aggressive AFO brace but now I'm having awful pain in my hamstrings and no stretching seems to help. The falling may or may not be exactly from the drop foot as there is a new issue of whether I'm getting enough oxygen into my blood when I sleep My sleep study 2 weeks ago said my oxygen dropped to 16 (normal is above 90) so doc said I'm lucky to be alive and he is doing another Tues....but even with all this, its not the main reason I'm here today...unless you can suggest if there is an area about this type of thing......(can you tell, I need suggestions).
We just added a small sunroom which I plan on using for meditation & hubby (w/earphones) will use for his keyboard. Had to fight to get the city to ok a level floor from sunroom into living room. Its too late for the contractor to do our flooring which is ok since I really would like some input as to people w/drop foot should I get carpet (gets dirty w/dogs) or tile then put large rugs or what? We really need suggestions on this...My toes are already going under and I am so frightened. BTW, how do I know if anyone answers my thread? sorry...not very computer literate! Peace & Gratitude.....Renee'Tina |
Hello ReneeTina,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups. I'm not quite sure where to suggest you post, but if you have nerve pain from the foot drop then try asking on the Peripheral Neuropathy Forum Neuromuscular Forum If you feel that doesn't fit, you could post on General Health Forum For your sleep issues, I'd suggest posting on Sleep Apnea & Sleep Disorders Forum You'll know if anyone answers in a couple of ways. You can set up Subscribe to posts or you can just check back here in the New Members forum on your thread. Subscriptions If people respond, then it will move it up the list of threads. Here's the NeuroTalk FAQ . That might help. |
Hi ReneeTina,
My suggestion is to go to the Advanced Search Page, enter drop foot as the key word, then select Search Titles Only (for starters) to bring up a list of threads dealing with drop foot from ALL the forums. After purusing a few of those threads, you might get a better idea of where to reply to an existing thread (or threads) or start one of your own. ;) Doc |
I learn something new every day.
All the years I've been here and I hadn't seen that "Search Titles Only". I had tried it the regular way "Search Entire Posts" and came up with all sorts of posts including "foot" and "drop" and "drop foot". Thanks for the tip. |
Great to meet you!!

WOW...Thanks for the welcome
 and, of course, suggestions! I'll ck the Advanced and search titles. My hubby who, I think I mentioned has Small Fiber is having a rare pain free say so he and a friend tried to move our small living room around to accommodate me
We need to redo the floors and I am so frightened of falling again and do t have a clue if I should get carpet or tile which of course would hurt more...I know this does not make sense but my L foot knee down to toes does not work ... Just a very frustrating day since I can't even get comfy on the furniture we do have...I cried for the 1st time in awhile as I really try to laugh off my situation You are all great for jumping in to help hugs and love to you all. I will write more later as I am going to walk in the community pool LOL which if u can picture, my foot wants to go floating but gotta keep trying, right! |
since I'm new....
I just noticed on the bottom of ea post people say thanx for this
what is this please? (still trying to find my way around here) I'm still trying to find answers to the foot drop situation but then again, I never expected to find answers asap. also going tomorrow night for another sleep test to see if they can figure out why my blood oxygen dropped below 20 when its supposed to be above 90. anyway, thanks again for some of the info and is it ok for me to try to email or send mssgs to individuals (like people with drop foot or neuropathy like we have). Specifically the drop foot people...nobody seems to have talked about it in 2014 and few last year. But the Advanced Search did bring up a few people that have been around for some years so maybe they have some answers.... Peace, Blessings & Health to all ReneeTia |

Hi Renee,
I feel your pain, I too have drop foot, and the brace doesn't help me either. I find that cycling on a stationary exercise bike helps for about 10 minutes a day. Let us know how you go. Dahlia |
