Time for doctors again?

I know that it is likely time to go see the doctor again... Don't wanna though... I just finished with a bunch of visits, tests and the endless poking that goes along with it... But that aside, hopefully that maybe this is just one of those MS things that if I ignore it, it (well it won't) will just go away (I'll get used to it, same thing right?)

So this evening, I was getting dinner going, something easy that I could set to a timer, no forgetting that way, and everything was fine. Went to get up about fifteen minutes later and couldn't put my foot down for the pain, forget trying to stand on it just putting it flat on the floor lit the nerves up like a Christmas tree as the muscles tied themselves up into a monster Charlie horse on the sole of the foot.

So I sat back down, stretched the foot, warmed it up some, stretched some more, massaged it. Everything felt good, okay...go to stand up... Foot hit the floor and BAM same thing all over again only this time the foot started swelling slightly and looking a bit distorted.

So now I have an ace wrap on it and the DH and DN are waiting on me hand and foot as it were, while I'm stuck trying to figure out why it feels an awful lot like I tore the plantar fascia somehow in the fifteen minutes from getting dinner and sitting down to standing up and not even getting to take a step to check on dinner. At least if I'm not putting the foot down its fine, if my other leg were stronger I'd be tempted to just hop around till this foot is done with its temper tantrum.

But it's going to be off to the doctors again and more tests again isn't it? :(

Well, possibly  :(

You might start with your PCP and see what he thinks. Not all things we experience are related to this disease.

Take care.

PCP is hard to start with, he's too old school for most things. Don't get me wrong he's a good doctor, listens attentively, doesn't give out unrealistic expectations, is willing too look pretty much anything up... But seems to think most folks born any time after the start of the Vietnam War are just a bunch of whiny pansies:D and most of the medications discovered after the Vietnam war are pure new-age hokum, pandering to the tender footed generations of everyone gets a cookie!

I LOVE my PCP, we get along great, since I largely concur.... Until.... Well something like this occurs. Then there can be issues on occasion, of course that was before I had medical insurance too, which may have had something to do with it, since he outright told me what was the use in pushing so hard for a dx on a disease I couldn't afford to treat when I couldn't even afford the tests without making things worse for myself.

And he was somewhat right, early on I would try to get a job to save up enough money for a test, go straight down hill from pushing myself too hard and be more in the hole financial and physically than where I started from. Having insurance now, he might be more willing to point me in the right direction.

Failing that I guess it's about time to see the rheumatologist to find out just what on earth is going on with my connective tissues.:(

the rheumy sounds like a good start.
i hope you find the dr that will dx your pain and problem. let us know.

I agree with Snoopy. Sometimes we tend to blame everything on MS when really it is something else. Starting with your PCP does sound reasonable, despite some of the differences you have had with him in the past. It could be several things. If you are really uncomfortable going to him, then talk to your rheumy.

Enjoy being catered to and I hope you feel better soon.
