Pain in the butt.
Hi everyone I'm having much pain so I'm gonna say what I've got and hope for ideas. Thanks in advance.
What is currently getting me down. Tailbone pain, it is aching constantly I don't have to be sitting. Sitting and standing are worse but lying on my back hurts side lying is best though this hurts to. There is a pressure feeling in there. Also this pain started with a pain in my back. I get a lot of back pain so is this related who knows. All I can say is this back pain though it's in the same place as usual feels deeper plus no position relieves it. I thought maybe kidneys but it's not quite the right place. Too high and too low (hurts is two places) Now my legs are aching (mostly calves and feet) feeling freezing and hot at the same time I don't think I have a fever though. Now the pain I always have ribs front and neck. Oh my neck is so bad base of head right side, then mid way and at base where neck wets torso. Feels constantly tight. Nothing helps, I've been physio for 6 months. Chiro a year acupuncture and massage weekly two months. No change. ENT specialist suggests i may have meniers disease or migrains causing dizziness and ringing ears. Regular gp mentioned last time my TSH was low only just on the scale .34 range is .34-5. Also I am depressed with all this pain. I can't function I'm crying all the time telling my kids to play quietly. Taking extra strength advil 3 times a day. Thanks again |
Have you had any investigations as to why you might be having all this pain?
Scans, other tests? Chronic Pain Forum Spinal Disorders & Back Pain Form I'm really sorry you're so sad and in pain. You really need to talk to your doctor and get this sorted out. |
What kind of testing have you had so far ?
spinal MRIs? full blood workup? What has been ruled out so far? Sometimes much testing & imaging (x rays?MRI) is needed to rule out things before it can pinpoint what it might be.. and it can be more than 1 condition.. any falls, or accidents that may have caused any injuries , even if long ago? |
Low TSH readings imply hyperthyroidism.
What did your doctor say about that low reading?. |
tailbone pain is a Ridiculous off the charts pain.
This sounds crazy but its the truth, I had a hypertensive crisis, felt lightning bolt from head down spine..and ever since, tailbone is always sore but when getting up!!! wow, pain off the charts. no doctors have a clue |
Hi again I have been to my gp many times hence the blood work. I'm going again Tuesday I can't go on like this. My blood work always comes back normal. Except last time tsh was flagged low. I have alway assumed my pain to be structural as I have had many accidents and born with a short leg, but nothing helps. I am not over weight, don't smoke, don't drink, I do all the physio excersises/stretches (I'm very flexible) I have tried chiro faithfully going and massages/acupuncture. I'm out of hope, just starting yoga next week...
Anyway now I'm thinking maybe there is something else going on? I just got back from Ear nose throat dr. He said possible menieres or migrains with dizzy, he's sending me to a neurologist and for an mri. Not sure that would have anything to do with my tailbone or backaches but getting rid of any pain at this point would be great. Just how to survive the wait between tests everything here take about three months. Oh I have had an mri left hip. Ultrasound left hip. ECG. Neck xrays pelvis xrays. And yes tailbone pain is off the charts. Sometimes I can't stand feels like wicked pressure. Thankfully it goes away. |
I wonder if you have some nerves being pinched. Maybe having a short leg all your life has caused arthritic changes that are causing nerve compression.
Have you started any new meds? I cracked my tailbone years ago, they do hurt like a champ. I hope you can find some relief. judi |
