Gardening as an anti-depressant

Thanks for that, Mark.
The garden is my destress and happy place.

If I'm feeling low I go out and dig in the earth.
I find it very grounding so to speak.

Just have to watch out for the spiders and snakes here. ;)
Also need to wear a mask with the potting mix in case of Legionnaire's disease, but otherwise it's the best.
Oh yeah.

That or a swim in the ocean.

Interesting article. I grew up on the family farm - the stress level of trying to make ends meet and deal with all the government regulations etc is still the main thing I associate with farming. At least I'm sure I already have all those microbes in my system.

I don't garden (hate it) but I do have a few african violets on my window-sill. That's as far as I go in that department.

I live in a condo. I tried to nurture a window herb garden but the organic soil I used turned out to be infested with gnats and it was very stressful. I think I'm going to wait a while longer before I try again... ;)
