Spot on back of head still hurts after 6 months

The top right of the back of my head when i touch is still sensitive. I had a traumatic fall 6 months ago and the area is still sensitive.

Also i had a head CT of the temporal bone 1 month after the fall and then later (2 months after accident) an MRI.

I'm wondering if it is possible a fracture went un-detected ? Or if it is just possible the area might still been sensitive/inflamed or swollen even a half year later?

6 months later symptoms include brain fog, intrusive tinnitus in the right ear and fatigue.

If it is only sensitive to touch, I would not worry about it. You may have injured the nerves. They can be slow to heal. A fracture would have healed long ago.

Martin,
This sensitivity issue is not uncommon.

We had another thread just recently about similar issue too.

Thanks Mark. I really appreciate your feedback.

When you say the nerves are slow to heal i'm curious what nerves you are referring to? Top right side of my head in the back.

I thought that if you injured nerves then the injury was permanent and thus i will have life-long sensitivity.

I'm taking about the surface nerves, in your skin and just beneath. I have surface nerve damage many places, mainly on my hands from cuts, burns, and crushing injuries. It can take years for those nerves to heal, if they do. It is not uncommon for them to become hypersensitive. I struggle with the cold. My hands becomes a painful mess.

Possibly Referred Pain from trigger points if you have neck pain or tightness.
What area of the head is sore?

I just mentioned this on another thread! I hit my head in December 2013 and still have some pain in that spot.

I saw that someone mentioned nerve damage. My doctor did diagnose me with neuralgia and said it could take 2 years for that to heal.

Part of the back of my head still hurts 468 weeks later. Any suggestions :)
