Roller cart/walker cart
 

I all,
I am wondering if anyone has used or knows anything about a substitute for a walker. When I have outings I take the stroller and can put my packages in it, and lean onto it when walking. My ten year old has long out grown the Dalmation stroller and I would like to upgrade, especially for my trip to Orlando.

The cart does not have 4 wheels, the one most like my needs is one that looks like a rolling porta potty with the seat.
Or guess I could go on with the stroller...BUT, I can not sit on the stroller I currently use. I can't stand more then 5-10 minutes in a line before I ahve to sit.

I rent a scooter for my daughter a lumbie, when we travel. I just depend on the stroller/cart to carry along coller, jackets and purchases, also would like a sit upon for breaks and baskets for carrying goods.
Like flea markets, Amusement parks, shopping trips.

My neighbor had the Nova-Mack Rollator for her husband that they used when they traveled (all over the world) and had no complaints.

I can't say enough about the freedom a rollator has given me. My preference is the type with a weight baring break. When you press down on the handle, the rollator stops. The hand breaks can slip and need adjustment. The beauty of the weight baring break is that when you sit down on the seat, it automaticly locks down and will not slip, even on a slant.

Your insurance may pay for it if your doctor writes you a script. The script needs to include your diagnosis and the features needed. I had my doc write that I needed weight baring brakes, a seat and a basket. Medicare paid for mine in full.

You can find them in all sorts of price ranges from about $100.00-$300.00. You will get what you pay for. I would want one that has at least a 250 lb. capacity. Less equals weaker. I prefere eight inch wheels. The larger wheels and wheel base equals sturdier.

I have had mine for three years now and it is still going strong. I purchased it from the Dalton Medical company and it was their rollator model 420076. It now costs $299.00 which is almost double what it was 3 years ago. I would get it again.......at the current price.......even if I had to pay for it. I test drove several models at medical supply place and out patient phys. rehab. and that was the one that I liked best. Best wishes.

If I understand correctly, you're looking for something with the capacity of a shopping cart and seating capability of a walker/rollator -- right??

This is so ironic. I just completed an order with ASW (an art supply warehouse). They had their carts, (like the first on you posted), on sale for $39.98. I think this will serve my needs O.K. I do a lot of painting away from home and can't always be sure of a chair so this answered my problem. These carts in other stores were $79.00 and I was waiting trying to find a better deal.

I like the rolling potty chair also. It actually looks like an air conditioner.

Off to the mall I am going.:p
