Acupuncture for PCS & Headaches

Has anyone done acupuncture? Have you had positive results? Did you have any negative side effects?

I am seeing a new neurosurgeon who has recommended acupuncture, they swear by it and told me that I would notice improvements right away and that after 2 sessions I would see how amazing it is and be willing to pay to continue.

Well I have only done 1 but I have suffered huge since and I don't know if it is because of that. It was a week and a half ago and I am super dizzy, nauseous, headaches and pressure, extreme fatigue, anxiety and just feeling so down. I was starting to function okay but this just feels like I have been pushed so far back.

I have been using acupuncture to ease my anxiety and help with the headaches and fatigue since my injury 2 and a half years ago. It has kept me from having to take anxiety meds and I only need to take Advil for the headaches. The first tx after the accident was very uncomfortable which was very unusual for me (I had used acupuncture in the past with good results for IBS)

After that first treatment I found it really helped. But acupuncture has a cumulative effect and I don't think anyone can predict that someone will see amazing results in just 2 treatments. It works very well for me but other people may not see the same results.

Did you lay face down or face up? This could have something to do with it... also after you are done you need to drink a LOT of water... defined by over 50 oz... after the first few times you will feel VERY tired... sleep... tell your acupuncturist about the aftermath and see what they think... but do go again...

I have to admit that I went to very respected acupuncturist and it didn't help me. But everyone is different and I am very happy if you found comfort
