Too much too fast

Hi baba, If you were just placed on Lyrica, I humble suggest you get a notebook and keep a journal w/dates and symptoms. I know that pain will drive a person to shovel pills by the handfull. I did it myself and am still adjusting medications after 18 months. My thoughts are if you go on two new pills at once, and good bad or ugly you won,t know whick one is responsible for the change in symptoms. You can do a search for the word Cymbalta at the top of this page and read other peoples experiences. I remember that coming off Cymbalta was a trip for some. Good Luck, Ken in Texas

Yes, I mentioned this to my internist. She is like"let's get our comfortable." I know that she is trying to help, but I am faced with figuring out long term which medicine works. I already noticed constipation with Lyrica. I was changed from Neurotin to Lyrica because of the burning pain. I guess I should have waited?

The pain is just so hard, as you know.

Thanks so much for taking the time to respond.

I was on Cymbalta for a few years. It did help with the pain somewhat. However, I had no personality at all. I was on 90 mgs though before it worked on the pain. That may have had something to do with my flat affect.

I had a horrible withdraw with this drug. I can't advise for it or against it. Everyone is different. While making your decision just remember that it may produce nasty withdraw symptoms.

I also had tried Neurontin & Gabapentin that did not relieve my pain. Tried amitriptyline but made me too nauseated. Started Cymbalta 3 weeks ago. The nausea and tiredness was the worst the first week or two, but its starting to get better. My doctor started me on a lower dose, and then after the side effects get a bit more tolerable, will build up in dose in a month.

Good luck!
