CE exam results
I recently took a CE exam that included IQ and Memory Scale test, why is it so hard for me to get a copy of the results?

This is highly recommended anytime you have an ALJ hearing scheduled. |

When I made an appointment to view mine, it was already at my hearing location, so I had to travel to it. Had it not been so close in time to the hearing, I might have been able to have viewed it at my local office. If the only thing you plan to review is a few specific test results, then send a letter to your attorney asking for a copy--he should have it, or else he can obtain it for you. |

Digital files

Different areas of the country handle claims for disability differently. Most have gone to digital files. If you have an attorney, he/she can get your entire file via computer within 24 hours usually and then your attorney can email the file directly to you. You never need to leave your home or even make a phone call. You can send your attorney an email requesting that he provide you with an up to date copy of your digital claim and you can review it yourself on your own computer. Of course, this is only if your area of the country has gone to digital claim files. Hope this helps you. |

They can deny you the test results, but I don't think they can legally deny you your SSDI file. I'd make the request in writing. I was approved long before digital files were an option. I'm guessing this will include audio recordings of your previous ALJ hearings. They were available in the olden days but you had to ask for them specifically. ;) http://www.ssa.gov/appeals/odar_pubs/70-10281.pdf It addresses your right to view your file under the ALJ Hearing section. |
