How long can you walk or jog
How long can you walk/jog? How is the improvement when you compare it to your initial weeks after the injury? Can you ride bikes? I can manage to walk for half an hour at a stretch now after 6 months. In the beginning it was very difficult to even walk for 5 minutes. But I still have that dizziness spell for a second while walking and it goes away

I'm not sure, I think if I get a decent nights sleep I can't walk around town for a couple of hours, don't think I'm far off how I was before my injury. I can ride my bike a few miles if it's level and a steady pace but it does tire me out if I go too mad. Like you I found difficult to walk at first and had to build it up, it's heartening to see progress.

I hit my head in December 2013, and walking was a nightmare at first.
I started out walking very slowly, for very short distances. I'm talking less than a quarter of a mile. I couldn't even make it to the end of my street without feeling a surge in symptoms. 5 months ago, it took me 40 or 50 minutes to walk half a mile. Now I can walk a full mile in less than 20 minutes when I'm alone. It takes me 24 minutes if I am pushing my toddlers (they weigh 80 lbs together, and it's very exhausting for me to bring them on walks). I am able to comfortably walk 2 miles at a slow, steady pace now without experiencing any symptoms. I have done as many as 4 miles in one day. Yesterday, I decided to increase my pace. I was able to walk a mile in less than 11 minutes without experiencing any symptoms. However, I was extremely exhausted when I got home (I walked a second mile, but at a slower pace), and my blood pressure was very high. I take my blood pressure and heart rate before and after exercising. |
Sounds like good progress, are you having a day off walking tomorrow or do you go every day? Monitoring your bp and heart rate sounds like a good idea, it must give an accurate picture of your fitness level. I want to try jogging again but think I need to power walk first.

Stay away from jogging until all symptoms have gone.
