Introducing me

Hello everyone,

Today is my first day here. I'll introduce myself. My name is Kristin. I haven't been diagnosed with TN yet. My doctor's say I am "symptomatic" of it. They've done all the tests they can do and everything is fine. Now it's just a waiting game for me....waiting for the day it hits me, if it ever does. They also believe I could have fibroymalgia.

My screen name is TNcrusader because I've made it my mission to create awareness and raise funds for TN research. My husband as TN1 and TN2. He has had 1 MVD, only a few months ago. He is on tegretol, gabapentin. They switched out his tramadal and baclofen for percocet and morphine. His TN1 pain is slowly starting to come back (we are hoping it's because of the cold and not for any other reason.)

*edit*

Also, October 7 is Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day. Our ribbon color is Teal!

Hi Kristen...How unusual that both you and your husband have TN???? Did you meet somehow, someway because you had this in common???? I hope that, in the end, the MVD for your husband is completely successful!

I have ATN, sometimes called TN2 and now called TNP (Trigeminal Neuropathic Pain). See my post about the classification changes....it seems the Trigeminal Neuralgia Association in Florida is advocating that we rename our pain. Mine is the constant boring, aching and sometimes burning pain that was caused after dental work (often bad dental work) that damages the trigeminal nerve.

Ironically, I just broke a tooth and I'm going to a new dentist to attempt to repair the tooth. My appointment is this Tuesday!

I do hope people become more aware of TN and that especially dentists start to take it more seriously since so MANY patients get trigeminal nerve damage from dentists who know so little or could care less about nerve damage.
