Abscess, anyone?

Seems like it's one step forward and two steps back……….. I was finally starting to feel better from whatever kicked my butt all summer. I had one good weekend - ONE! - which I spent throwing a sleepover/birthday party for DD. Then I get this familiar and unpleasant sensation in the nether regions - throbbing, swelling, fever, pain, nausea. It's another dam peri-**** abscess!

I ended up having surgery and massive doses of several antibiotics. Now the antibiotics are kicking my butt! Bad!!!!!! So I get the added joy of hemorrhoids, diarrhea, gut cramps - oh, not to mention the Cipro reaction of tendonitis. I had to switch to Keflex.

So now I'm sitting here all loopy on painkillers trying to type coherently.

Is anyone else plagued with abscesses? This is the second one near the rectum, both on the left side, I've had to have surgery on. The doctors can't tell me what's causing them. If you want to put a hex on your enemy, go for a peri-**** abscess!

This sounds dreadful.

There is a symptom of low biotin levels, than involves as you call it, the nether regions. For some reason, the skin there is highly dependent on Biotin for its integrity to repel infections.

5mg a day for 3 months may give you some improvement. I'd give that a try for prevention. Puritan's Pride carries this economically but Biotin is not expensive anyway.

Also I'd get some Kefir, which has 12 probiotics in it, to recolonize your bowel flora...this gets really upset with repeated antibiotic use. The more antibiotics used, the worse the bowel gets, and pathogens then take over causing inflammation of the tissues.
This Kefir is now in many stores, is very tasty and affordable:

Kroger's and Costco carry now near me. I have Kefir very often and it is truly amazing.
