I think I might have a third
Last night I was down on the floor cleaning up cat vomit and when I stood up I cracked the back/top of my head on the bottom of my dining room table (damn thing is new so I'm not accustomed to it plus it's glass [thick glass at that] so it's clear so I didn't see it). I had a bit of a headache last night, not to mention some severe neck pain (which I'd actually been dealing with all day) and fell asleep at around 9. Woke up today with a nasty headache and I can't tell if I'm foggy or if I'm just tired. I'm just really scared of having another one because, among the other obvious reasons, working retail our busiest time is coming up and while work has been blessedly willing to work with me I'm worried they're going tolose patience with me.

You bumped your head again. Whether it is a concussion or not, you are manifesting symptoms. Being anxious about it is not helping your recovery.
I suggest you take the Britney Spear approach and just say "Opps..... I did it again." and try to move on with your life. There is no way to differentiate symptoms from the past from symptoms from this bump. Please continue with your anxiety therapy. |
Concussion #3 confirmed. This sucks.

So, did a doctor confirm your concussion ? How did he differentiate your current symptoms from your past ?
As I said, don't get stuck on a diagnosis. It does not change anything. Please, try to move on without the anxiety of "I've been diagnosed with another concussion." |
Yes I saw my doctor. I guess it's just that there was a specific trauma and I've backtracked dramatically in my progress. Off work again. I'm just tired of this whole situation. And I know I'm preaching to the choir. But I went almost 33 years with nothing and now 3 traumas in 7 months. It's getting old. My life seems to be revolving around concussions.
I guess I'm just having a pity party right now. |
So, did the doctor suggest anything for you to do about it ?
Unless you needed a doctor's note for work, I doubt there was any real value to the doctors visit. My doctor did not like me complaining about things he could not help. Repeated visits ended up working against me even when they were just to his head ache clinic group. btw, I bet you have bumped your head many times over 33 years. They just did not cause prolonged symptoms so they did not cause anxiety. |
