Statin trial, Gabapentin trial
I stopped Simvistatin about 6 mo ago since I felt that it mey hurt my Neuropathy. The next lipid panel showed that the Cholesterol had jumped up. I restarted the Simvistatin 3 mo ago and my number today back toward good. I will fight Neurapathy and take the Simvistatin also.
I did manage to wean myself from Gabapentine as there was no help that I could tell w/pain. I had minor side effects @ 900 mg/d. The Dr. is going to take away the Norco-10-325 and go to something like Tylenol w/ codiene. Way to go DEA!! This thread is FYI only and not to be confused w/anyone that knows what they are doing. Good Luck Ken in Texas. |
at least take the CoQ-10 for that evil statin. It might protect your heart muscle which is very dependent on CoQ-10.
You cannot do much for your nerves however, while taking a statin, IMO. Read some of the links I have on this forum if you dare. Simvastatin is the most toxic to nerves of all of them, since it is lipophilic and enters the nerve membranes and brain, easily. It is so toxic that the FDA cautions against high doses now. There are studies on PubMed showing very low once or twice a week use of Crestor as effective. 5mg. Use "rosuvastatin" as your keyword, there. example: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23565478 Makes one wonder at 5mg Crestor once a WEEK. Here is our statin thread complete with photographs of damaged nerve cells: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/sh...ghlight=statin |
