New Here

Looking for help for my dad, he has IPN for about 10-15 years now, he recently increased his IVG treatment 2x a week, he takes B-12 but I believe it's a very low dose and is also on a Statin and other medications.

I want him to start taking 5000mcg B-12 and ALA 300mg twice a day, to see if it offers him some relief.

ALSO I am 48 and have recently noticed tingling in my feet especially at night so I am concerned I may be headed down the same road. Recently I had a b-12 level that came back at 367, I took b-12 5000mcg sublingually for 3 months and it went up to 867.

I took this blood test WITHOUT fasting so I am concerned it may not be accurate.

I also suffered from unexplainable anemia four years ago and have been noticing that I couldn't get my stamina back up while exercising, that has since approved since supplementing with the b-12.

Sorry that this is all over the place. I really want to accomplish two things, help my dad get some relief from the pain and numbness and prevent this dreadful disease in myself.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!:o

I myself am new here so welcome. It is a good place to process. I am going to sound like a broken record to many people here I am afraid but the best advice I could possibly provide and what worked for me is to consume a largely plant based natural diet, avoid GMO foods and eat organic whenever possible. As I have probably refused to acknowledge myself, it would seem there is no real cure to be had, so to me it is about keeping your body in optimum condition. Also, sugar seems to be a flare for a lot of people, even those who are not pre or diabetic.

Now, I can say that the methylcobalamin B12 is what I take and I like it. I take Alpha Lipoic Acid as well. I would STRONGLY recommend Acetyl L Carnitine to go with the Alpha Lipoic Acid. There seems to be some evidence that they work in tandem (don't remember how, maybe someone else could expound upon that.)
