Emergency Room Visit

It is 4:30 a.m. and I just got back from the emergency room. I am not a happy camper either. The doctor did not even check my throat as I can barely swallow. He only checked my lungs and heart with the stesacope. sp? I just took my psych meds so chances are I will sleep most of today. I plan on calling my doctor tomorrow and he'll probably have me come in Tuesday hopefully. I had a real bad pain in my chest and was chocking on the sinus drainage last night. I am not getting better with my chest pain, my bowel problem, and I cannot function on all the pysch meds along with all the allergy pills I am suppose to take. The doctor today told me to take the 24 hour allergy pills in the morning and benedryl at night. I have been feeling like a zombie way too long due to these allergies already that when I take the benedryl I will not be able to function at all hardly.

Oh Dear.
I am sorry to hear this. I hope that you can get into your dr's office soon. Maybe you can get in today/Monday.
Be a zombie and sleep. The benadryl will help the breathing and such, right?
I wish that the ER doc had made you feel better. Geesh.

oh rats...how are you feeling now? I am so glad you went to the emergency room but somehow I think they could have given you a more thorough examination. It is tough enough to be bipolar but when you have other things on top of it it is almost unbearable. I hope you are peacefully napping now.
Sending my very best wishes and thoughts that this too shall pass.
Bobby

Dear Barbara,
I too wish that you were given something to help. I hate it and know that is miserable when you have a sore throat, let alone the chest pain...did they seem to think that was cardiac or muscles or anxiety?
sorry that you are sick...not fun.

I hope you are feeling better today. I sure hope you can get in touch with your regular doctor today too.

Take it easy.

Hugs, Nikko:hug:

Thanks everyone.

I felt better after being at the emergency room for hours but woke up today with the pain in my shoulder/chest area if that explains it good enough. All the doc said in the emergency room was to take the benedryl. One of the nurses there was making fun of me as if my pain was no big deal saying, "heck, I've got shoulder pain myself." I'm gonna report them from last night because they even did another patient common by ingnoring him when he called out for help.

i have an appt. with my primary care doc at 4 EST today.

ER's

Barbara I am so sory you ae so sick, I can't believe they would not help you, there are many things to have helped you there.

Until you can get to the doctor, try a 4 oz water and half tsp of salt for a garggle that may clear some of the drainage. Long term if the alergies are a problem they have protable home flters. They clean the air in your home of allergens and air particles.

Katie is complaining of the gunk in her throat but she can swollow, she does not have the sore throat.
You could be getting strep throat or tonsilitis and hey never even looked!
There is a cold formula that I ehard of people using, I think it comes in a Q-Tip also the zink products. But if you need to get another perscripton, it is double cost to go out and get those.

Did you try running the shower on hot for steam and sit on the lid of the toilet? Maybe some of the stuff you use as a pain rub, for the emnthol to help clear the tubes up?

Feel better soon,

Thanks Di,

The cab will be here in 30 minutes and I don't want to do anything until I see the doctor that will help my condition so he can see what shape I'm in. I will do the salt water goggle later though. I don't have my tonsils but your right, it could be strep. I hope that Katie feels better soon.

My doctor said the psendoephedrine was what was making me so out of it and to get the Laoratadine without it. He also said I have a sinus infection and maybe athritis in my shoulder. He said they would take an x-ray of it if it gets too bad and I told him it already hurt like hell but all he said was to take Motrin for it.

Well, take care everyone.

mymorgy 06-04-2007 06:12 PM

have you had arthritis before? I think i would have asked for an xray
Feel better and thank you so much for the update
Bobby
