Vitamin D

I have had the symptoms of alcoholic neuropathy for three months - severe pain in one foot and tingling in the other . Although my B 12 etc was ok, it turns out my Vitamin D is a bit low ( it is 48 mmol/L .... Think we may have a different scale here in the uk than in the US) . The specialist said I should go back to the GP and get a Vitamin D shot and gave it monitored... Will this make a difference to the neuropathy do you think ? Mrs D ?? ! Are you there ? :-)

The conversion tables show these values... not mmol/L.

Vitamin D
1,25-Dihydroxyvitamin D pg/mL 2.6 pmol/L
25-Hydroxyvitamin D ng/mL 2.496 nmol/L

Here is a link on how to convert:

We have had people with vague pain thought to be PN, who have improved markedly on Vit D. One was pain in the shoulders, the other was a calf muscle pain.

For your vit D, go out in the sun for a few minutes every day. Stand barefoot on the earth and get a double bonus.

I'm in Florida, land of constant sunshine. I was extremely deficient in D3. The supplements helped a lot.

I do love the sun in the summer and I was still low.
