Difference between concussion symptoms and PCS?

Can somebody please tell me the difference between concussion symptoms and PCS? For instance, I have read about many athletes who suffered tinnitus after they smashed their heads in soccor and it went away along with other concussion symptoms in a couple of weeks.

So what's the difference between a long term tinnitus and temperoty ringing that many players had? Same goes for other symptoms that follow a concussion and goes away against the long term similer symptoms that we have. After how much time can the symptoms be classified under PCS. Are they same as those short term symptoms ? Sorry for the confusion, just wondering . Many thanks for reading.

Some consider PCS as concussion symptoms that persist beyond 6 weeks or so. Others say PCS is symptoms that last beyond a few weeks.

It is a meaningless differentiation. It does not change the treatment, etc.

85% recover from their concussion symptoms spontaneously within 6 weeks or so.

Yes, it has to do with the persistence of symptoms. My neuro psychologist told me that she, personally, doesn't like to make a PCS diagnosis until after the six month mark.
