7 weeks no improvement new symptoms
My husband is 7 weeks in to his tbi, he is on 100mg trazadone for sleep (no help) and 50 mg topomax 2x a day for headaches( no relief
He still is extremely dizzy ( needs a walker) to keep stable and has blurred vision ringing in his ears. He gets extremly agitated very easily. His workers comp dr keeps saying time that it's going to take time. Trial and error on meds My concern is he is starting to develops violent shakes in his arms without any warnings. ( violent I mean the remote could just go flying) any thoughts? I mentioned to nero and he said just all part of the pcs? Thank you for any insighg |
Sounds like he would benefit from a full work-up at a neuro rehab hospital with a Physiatrist (Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation MD). Meds are usually a trail and error process. Maybe he needs to try something else. I like gabapentin to help with sleep. It also helps with my shaking.

Mark, thank you again, sadly we are stuck here at the mercy of the wc drs. In our state we don't have the option. I agree on more testing sadly in our state there is only 2 nerologist in our state that accept wc.
Waiting really is tough. The unknown is even tougher |
Is there a Physiatrist who takes WC ? Look for them under Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Have you looked into contacting a WC attorney ?
I used to have those ballistic movements, especially in bed when rolling over. I think it is a brain stem issue. Did you delete the Mike1971 profile ? I can't find any posts to look at your past comments What state are you in ? |
Mark, we live in sc. I did delete mike1971 as I figured it would be best that everyone know it was me ( his wife) I will research on tomorrow. His nurse ( wc case manager) goes to all his appointments so I will also check with her.
