Hello Mark,

I am referring to Bay Area, California. It will be one year for my concussion next month. I am still suffering from Fatigue, Dizziness, Headaches and neck pain.

Thanks,
Kirti

Kirti,

Do you mean the San Fransisco Bay area ? Southern Cals refer to Long Beach as the Bay Area.

What care have you received for your neck ? Most concussion specialists, and I use that term lightly, have no clue about how neck injuries impact concussion symptoms.

Dr Amen's clinic in Walnut Creek area claims to be able to help. I doubt you will find a one stop shop unless you can find a neuro-rehab hospital/clinic with expertise with concussions. Every college and professional sports team will have concussion specialists they use. What part of the Bay Area are you in ?

Pinka,
I saw Dr. Christopher DeMartini in Redwood City. He is a chiropractic neurologist and is really wonderful.

The doctor that my daughter sees is through the SOAR clinic. Unfortunately he is changing his practice and is becoming a personal doctor. I'm sure the clinic will hire someone new. We have been lucky with the doctors from this clinic. If your vision/reading is affected, we also went to UC Berkeley eye clinic which was and is very helpful. Mark in Idaho has been helpful in giving people the advise to working on one symptom at a time. This approach seems to work well.

Thank you for taking time to respond to my questions.

@Mark, I have heard mix reviews about Dr Amen's clinic and seems like he dose not take insurance.
I have tried Bowen Therapy, NUCCA and neck exercises. These therapies did help by some extents, but we have to keep doing it every week or two. It is becoming very expensive to continue as I have already spent $$$$.

@ lyndianne, Dr. Christopher DeMartini has good reviews on Yelp. Which symptoms he helped you with?

@ hopefulmom, Are you refferring to Dr. Saglimbeni? Too bad that he is becoming personal dr. I was planing to call this office to take appointment :(

pinka,

What have you been doing at home to effect long term stability of your neck ? The therapies only start the healing process. The patient needs to be disciplined to maintain the stability.

How are you sleeping ?

There are chiropractic neurologists all over the Bay Area. Google 'chiropractic neurologist' and your city and you will find one nearby. Keep in mind that not all chiro neuros have the same skill set even though they may carry the same board certification.

I was referring to Dr Saglimbeni, however I would still call SOAR. We saw Dr Wall for a quad tendinosis issue and he was great. Who did you do your NCUAA through?

You can email me with more questions about doctors if you want to.

I am doing exercises for my neck. Sometimes when I get busy at work I dont get time to do exercise much which triggers the pain again. It takes long time (couple of weeks) to get rid of discomfort.

I am finding sleeping on my back very difficult as I am so used to sleeping on my side.

Bending for clean up or unloading dishwasher or getting up form floor multiple times( to take care of Toddler) exhaust me a lot. I am not sure if it is because of head/brain moment or neck and shoulder moment which is triggering it.

I love my job so trying to work 20 hrs/per week, I am able to do that only if I hire a maid 8-10 hours/week :).
