any tips for getting cardio with a bad leg?

Hi. I need to get some cardio work outs going, but I can't do a lot of things like running, jogging and jumping. My pt advised me to stay away from jump ropes, treadmills and ellipticals if they can't be flat.
I try to use the one doctor approved bike, but it is hard to get the heart pumping enough on that machine.
Does anybody have any suggestions on how to get a good cardio work out in without putting too much stress on a leg?
Thank you for your input. I Iook forward to hearing from you.

that's a good suggestion, thank you. Informally even that isn't in my cards.

bottled ballerina....what a great name!

if you can't swim, maybe you could try aqua therapy classes and just stay off the bad leg. One interesting class I took, they gave us floating vests and we all jumped in the deep end and did exercises while kind of hanging there in the vests.....we "ran" in place, did all kinds of leg exercises. You could just go easy on the bad leg. You could also just get your own vest and use the pool at whatever local public pools or gyms/clubs are near you.
Good luck....let us know what worked for you.

The only pool I have access to is forty dollars a month, and I just can't afford that. It is where I go for my physical therapy and they said the pool use discount is thirty dollars after you complete the physical therapy.
Swimming does sound like a very good thing to try. I hope I can use one. Thank you for your suggestion and explanation. I will look into pool use again.
