Help with choosing Medicare insurance

I accidentally happened onto a website that took me to a free government service that helped me choose the medicare program that was best for me. I was so confused when I was going thru this and these people turned out to be worth their weight in gold. Hope they can help you too

ship just helps with finding a insurance plan for you.. different states offer different plans .. so don't know where you are .. I have Coventry and in Iowa , its a great plan..

So true. Also, some states have more plans than others. I am in N.J. & for 2015 there are over 20+ ins programs to choose from. :eek:
The Medicare For You personalized booklet that you get every year if you are on Medicare list all the plans for your state. Makes it easier to choose. Info overload for sure.

I have stuck w/the same plan since these ins programs first started I believe around 2005.

I am w/AARP United Health.

I know a person with the AARP United Health add on also.

Between Medicare and it, her colon cancer ordeal (hospital, surgery and all tests) was completely covered by both! She is very satisfied with it. She is 86.

Minimum age to JOIN AARP is 50. Don't know about the health insurance part, though.

Yes, it's age 50 to join and I believe it is age 50 for the health insurance part.

Kitt & MrsD are both correct.

Luckily I was already an AARP member. You get invited to join AARP a few months prior to your 50th birthday. Once you are a member, you can get the AARP benefits/discounts w/United Health.
In N.J. on top of the AARP/UH bennies, the state (in partnership w/AARP) pays the ins premium and you pay between $2-$5 max for all prescriptions. :)

When I first chose my supplement plan, I was told I was ineligible for the AARP supplement due to my age at the time.

One of the nice things about the AARP plan/s are that they include free YMCA membership.
