Restaurants & Insulin

I use insulin with meals but have always been home. I am going "out" to eat tomorrow with a group of friends and don't know how to handle injecting my insulin when at a restaurant.

The restroom is a thought but I am not sure THAT is a good place to inject due to unsanitary conditions that might abound in that environment.

What do others here on the forum do when eating in a restaurant and administering mealtime insulin?

Hi Hopeless, very nice to hear you have a fun evening planned with friends. Personally I would do what I have to do. I don't take insulin, but many times I've ducked to bathroom to take my meds. Either painkillers or my beta blocker. Maybe you can bring a peice of plastic or foil in your handbag with you and lay down and put whatever you need on top, and do it quickly?

That's all I can think of. Aussie
