Celexa anyone?

Because of insurance reasons my pnurse just switched me from Lexapro to Celexa. I know that they are pretty much the same med, but I was wondering if anyone was on it and if it does them any good?

Hi Wendy,

I was on it for awhile during 98' but it stopped helping when I got really stressed out, so I was put on something else, I can't recall what, but I remember it did work for awhile, and then it seemed like it stopped. I hope you have better luck with it, it's all luck and hit or miss with meds sometimes. Good luck with it! :D

Both Celexa and Lexapro have worked for me--for a while.
That is what happens with all meds for me.:)

I can't really remember if I was on Celexa for awhile back East before I was diagnosed with BP, they were trying everything for my depression.

Lexapro did help me when I was first diagnosed with BP here, then I got switched to Cymbalta.

Hugs, Nikko:hug:

I switched from Lexapro to Celexa last Thursday. I was taking 10 mg of Lexapro and I am now taking 20 mg of Celexa. I have been pretty much a walking zombie ever since. The first two mornings I woke up with severe headaches that wouldn't go away until the afternoon. By Sunday those disappeared. Now I am dealing with problems sleeping, tiredness and feeling funky. I know that it is because I switched from one med to the other overnight so I just gotta tough it out for now.
Wish there was an easy way to get through this icky phase.

Hang in there Wendy it's going to get better soon, it will take a few days probably before the icky feelings eases off but you'll get there. Hope you start feeling better soon. :D

Ugh, this is the worst. I think it has triggered my FM. Isn't that a fine how do you do?

Maybe you should call your p-doc and tell him/her about how you are feeling and the side effects. It can't hurt to just call.

Even if it hasn't been that long, it just may be one of those meds that isn't for you, or it is interfering with other meds and the combo isn't good for you.

Yesterday I took 2 percocet because of the severe pain at once and I am only supposed to take one every 6 hrs as needed so I don't take them everyday, and I felt nausea's, so you never know, it could be the dosage too.

Good Luck, Nikko

Hope you are feeling better soon.

I am feeling a little better today. Each day is a little better. I just wish I could sleep easier. That has been the worst part.

Well I think I have to adjust when I take my celexa. Tomorrow I am going to try and take it in the AM instead of at night. Which may account for my not feeling as rested as I should after 8 hours. I sleep light as a feather right now it seems. As you can see I am up at almost 2 my time in the morning. I took another dose of trazodone and hopefully that will kick in soon.
But that is all on the home front.....see you in a few hours!
