MS Symptoms?

Hello,
I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia in 2010. Recently this year I started having burning sensations or tingling in my hands especially when I got them wet doing dishes which is strange. Also have the heat sensation in my back and now starting to have numbness in my feet. They just feel funny like they are going to start pins and needles. I've also been having bad leg muscle pain where it feels like the muscles are stretched lengthwise tight like a rubber band. It hurts so bad. That's in addition to normal fibro flu like aches. I went to the dr today and she has ordered an MRI to check for MS and what she called complicated migraines. Just wanted your opinion. Does this sound like MS symptoms? Of course I have fatique, IBS, and other things that go along with fibromyalgia.

Welcome to NeuroTalk, Bellsandcandles. :welcome_sign:

MS is difficult to diagnose because it mimics so many other conditions. It's just a process of elimination.

Your symptoms sound like some of the symptoms of MS but they also sound much like other conditions, too.

Testing will eliminate some and confirm others. When you have your MRI done make sure they do it with and without contrast. I've never understood why doctors do MRI's without taking the time to use contrast. It's really a waste of time and money when they do.

Once you have your testing done you can post your results here for other opinions. While no one here can offer medical advice we can offer understanding and practical suggestions.

hi bells and welcome to NT; can i call you that for short.
i'm impatient with myself when i'm typing :)

it is difficult to put symptoms (sx's) together because the picture of MS can be so different for everyone.

at least your dr is listening to you and looking for answers.
get a copy of the mri disk and report when you have it done and start a medical file on yourself. it will come in handy down the road.

let us know how you are.

They could be or not.

It was pretty obvious when I got checked out, because I let it go for so long before I actually felt like something was going terribly wrong. I remember my tingling hands and spots of weird sensations, eye problems and even after having a nite accident I still didnt go to the doctor. I wrote it off as stress or something. Finally falling on my face and so dizzy I couldnt get up, made me go to the doctors. I was 37, now 40 and I have trouble in all aspects of this disease in a short amount of time.

So yeah its good to get checked out now at the slightest symptoms, because if yo uwait like me, it makes things harder to deal with.

Good luck to you and dont get to mad if it is true....I know it will be a shock, but take a time out and breath, even at my stage it is fairly manageable.
