Embarrassing bowel question

Has anyone noticed that your muscles down there don't want to work all the time? I take softeners and fiber powder. Well my biggest concern here is my muscles seem to be giving out on me. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, do the nether region squeeze and hold, squeeze and hold exercise.
It has helped me greatly.

I don't know what I would do without my fiber and water. But when my body tells me it has to go you better answer quickly or you better be finding you some clean clothes to wear. But without the fiber it would be terrible to even try to go.

Oh yes.

I use glycerine suppositories almost daily so that I can go, since I rarely can get myself to go on my own, and if I wait, there's the chance I might have an accident. It's happened quite a few times, I'm embarrassed to admit. I wear protective underwear 24/7 due to urinary incontinence but bowel incontinence is a whole other issues. There isn't much worse in life than that, I don't think.

I know that glycerine suppositories can become habit forming and they certainly have for me, but I simply don't know how to cope otherwise. I have two young kids and am out of the house at sports/school/daycare with them constantly, I can't be near a toilet all the time.

I have real trouble with kegel exercises... I never used to have a problem with them but it's clear the ability to do them has been affected by my nerves being shot to the lower half of my body. I try to do them but I end up getting really frustrated when I can't.

It is curious to me why MS strikes certain muscles. Bowel, bladder, eyes, legs...why can't it be the 3rd toe on the left foot, or the right pinkie finger?

I have the same control issues too, KittyLady. I can hold urine or BMs up to a point. Once one or the other starts moving, look out, don't get in my way. :holysheep::Oops:
