My arachnoid cyst is ruining my life.
 

I recently discovered that I have an arachnoid cyst on my left frontotemporal lobe, I have lost friends, girlfriends, jobs and I am worried it is consuming me and taking control of my life. I have concentration problems and all sorts of mood, personality changes and depression. Mental changes have taken over my life and I fear the sight of every new day, I dont feel or act like my old self, I know surgery is the best chance I have at a normal life but I am terrified and concerned that it still may not bring back the real me. I guess I joined this forum to feel like I am not alone with this and maybe there are others that can relate and shed some light on whats at the end of the road and how I get there, anything would help at this point. Hi, I'm the exact same position as you. I was diagnosed with an Arachnoid Cyst two years ago. Mine is 40X30 mm in size.I also have some Colloid cysts. I've had to give up work also as I feel so ill. The headaches are unbearable and I suffer from intermittent facial paralysis. My health is terrible at the moment and I seem to be getting worse. I'm in the UK and they don't tend to operate on these unless they get really big. Mine is stable apparently. If you can have this operated on then do it! I would give anything to have mine removed.
