Car accident after TBI
I was in a car accident tonight. Thankfully it wasn't a bad one, I was the 4th car in a chain fender bender. My car took a brunt of the damage. The roads were slippery and my ABS didn't kick in. My husband wonders if my reaction time was slow.
I am wondering if there is anything I should do. I am in bed now and turning in, it is only 8pm! Should I go to my doctor tomorrow? I don't want to make a big deal about it, but I have also suffered for the last 1.5 years with horrible PCS. |
Glad to hear you are OK.
I suggest you take a hot bath and try to be sure your neck is not tight then try to have a good night's sleep. btw, ABS is helpful but if tire condition and road surfaces don't provide some traction, ABS will not help. ABS does not help at all for quick change of direction movements. I doubt your reaction time could have made any difference. We often have slippery roads here in Idaho. I put premium winter tires on my wife's car because her standard winter tires were not much help. The premium tires make a huge difference. My best to you. |
I suggest calling your Dr. tomorrow to let them know what happened and ask them if you should go in or make an appointment.
Until you can reach them, rest and don't worry too much about it. |
I'm really sorry to read about your accident tonight.
That would have been a shock to your system. Get some rest and see how you feel in the morning as long as you have no obvious injuries at the moment. take care there. |
Thanks everyone!
I woken up early this morning with a really bad frontal headache, took some Advil and I am now resting. We were in the middle of a bad snowstorm so I am not going anywhere. Did put a call in to my doctor to see if he wanted me to come in. |
