It's Christmas Eve. What are your plans?

It's Christmas Eve.

Does anyone do special things on Christmas Eve?

A special hello to BrokenFriend. I've been wondering how you are. I am thinking of you this Christmas Eve.

=============

We do not "observe" Christmas in religious fashion, and we don't even decorate any more, but we still observe the holiday in a small, family way. We will exchange cards, but not gifts. Most of our rituals have to do with food, and these start on Christmas Eve.

This evening we are having a light pasta first course, followed by smoked salmon, a green salad, and brown bread with cream cheese. Dad and I will have a glass of rose with that. I will also make a small potato-fennel side salad too, I think.

=============

This morning, I must make an effort to get myself and my area more presentable, so that we can enjoy tomorrow in a comfortably clear living room. A ton to do both on the self and the area. Busy.

I might need to go out and get cards. A bit yikesy on fitting that in.

I spent the night finding, evaluating and bookmarking carols to listen to, as we don't have much on CD that we like. More busy. My mother tried buying some more this year, and they didn't work out well either. We like traditional English choral music, as well as some of the older American contemporary voices ... Bing Crosby, Ray Price, Nat King Cole. My dad especially likes Sinatra, but the CD we have finds me wanting to leap out of the window, for how depressingly drawn out it is. So I'm trying to find recordings where he hasn't reduced the tempo down to a complete crawl and all but eaten the rhythm.

Not really in a huge Christmas spirit, but my folks are in a low key place with it too. We are in sync, so it is feels comfortable.

Ugh to slow Sinatra. I hope you find what you want.

======
Hi,

Mostly I am looking forward to music I will record from the Vacation mass that they show here at 11:30 pm 24th. Maybe some other stuff I already recorded via tv and also some pandora and youtube.

I could REALLY use some P A S T A right now.:Dancing-Chilli: I will settle for the broccoli in the microwave.

My trainer came over today/23 to do upper body work.
He is coming back on Christmas day/25 because we are
both available. His family celebrates Noche Buena on the 24th.

I did a little re-organizing of bookshelves in the living room
in order to put ones I use frequently in better locations in relationship
to the others. Have much more to do.

Your day sounds busy. I am wondering if you are rested, too.

My sleep has gotten super-weird, and I need some badly right now. I showered and now have laundry going -- would not be a bad time to nap, but I'm afraid I'd get up too late to go out for cards (bus/expedition to mall).

That's funny you have a training session on Christmas Day. :D Hey, whatever works, right?

Have a good day today. :circlelove:

Hi, Bobby. :)

So glad you have plans for this evening and tomorrow.

Hmmm, do I see a few Irish Coffees in your holidays this year? Orr maybe I should say Scotch Coffees since the whiskey is Scotch. ;):D

I understand about the stress. It's ok to have these little concessions from time to time.

Enjoy your evening, and let us know how it goes.

It's an overcast and rainy Christmas Day here.

I love overcast and rainy!

Waves, I was thinking about the music.

Michael Buble is more upbeat with Christmas music, especially if your father likes Sinatra.

We didn't do a lot tonight. We watched Will so Devin could finish his
shopping. We are making the turkey for my mom's house tomorrow.
And I made Green Been Casserole.

Derrick has gotten chocolate chip and sugar cookies ready.

So we will do a little celebration then head off for my moms.

I do too actually... when it's not on a daily basis, lol. Anyway, I am glad you had Christmas weather you could enjoy. How was your Christmas, did you do anything special?

Hmm it's 4pm here, so that means it has already turned into Boxing Day for you, right? (aha! confirmed by your sig-clock.) Is that a holiday in Australia? I can't remember if it's specifically a British holiday or all of Commonwealth. It was a holiday where I grew up.
