Post Concussion + Autonomic Nervous System disregulation

Suffered blow to head 2 1/2 yrs ago. Long roller coaster ride. Latest information is my autonomic nervous system is not regular. I cannot handle physical exertion with heart rate over 100 bpm. Does anyone have any therapies that have helped?

Beta blockers doesn't seem to work for me. Physiological symptoms + fatigue + mental fogginess, etc. return.

Maureen0987,

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

I had autonomic nervous system dysfunction years (decade) ago that manifested from an upper neck injury. I had to avoid sleeping with my head/neck bent forward. It would effect my breathing, pulse and BP. It took therapy and years of disciplined sleeping behavior to stabilize.

The best I understand was this forward head position caused inflammation in the upper neck/brain stem, that interfered with autonomic functions.
