Pressure in Ears/Head working out -- Neck?
Hey guys ,
Again I turn to you guys when the experts fail to give me answers, and or say I am making it up! I was working out today (at Physio) and decided to push myself to test, as another Dr had deemed that my ongoing issues are not due to my head injury, while in the process of doing this I had to pop my ears constantly, I live in a Climate with many pressure changes, and have headaches due to that post accident, but I felt like as I worked harder I honestly could have burst an eardrum or something worse. Has anyone else experienced this, I have not up to this point, but it did help with the self doubt you feel after someone says its not related. As well, I am trying to give benefit of doubt to new information, or opinions that say it may not be head related, can my neck be causing the Cognitive dysfunction, I do not care what any tests say I am operating at a lower, far lower capacity for stress, new information, remembering, etc etc .. but its a hard thing to wrap your mind around that maybe it is something else? anyways all opinions are welcome! |
Do you monitor your heart rate while you work out? If mine gets above a certain level, my head starts to pound, like it's going to explode. This isn't uncommon with TBI patients.

I still have a slightly crunchy neck and my ears pop too. Both became worse after my concussion so I assume there is a correlation. I've heard residual CF pressure mentioned as the culprit but who knows...

By the way, while it sounds disconcerting, that crunching is a sign of healing. |
I'd check out the post on weather changes recently. OR google weather headaches. Last year I had basically a bed-rest from Nov-Feb and a bad month before and after that living in Minnesota. MY symptoms are again worsening.
Do you feel pressure in your sinuses? if so, could be weather. |
If your scalenes & SCM muscles are tight or strained that can put pressure on the blood flow and nerves in the neck..and be a cause of headaches too..
Do you ever get a whooshing /pulse sound? (bruit) also related - look for trigger point information... http://www.pressurepointer.com/pain_reference_chart.htm |
I havee the whoosing sound and pulse. what does that mean?
|
Hey guys thanks for the info,
I keep track of pulse, and seem to have pressure in my ears around the 120 bpm mark. I am convinced its my neck as I cannot see my brain causing a physical symptom such as that. I will keep track and its good to know the crunching isn't just me either side to side it sounds like something is pusing and popping the way it shouldnt |
