Capsaicin cream

I had some burning on the tops of my feet and shins. I was at Walmart and bought some Capsaicin cream. Thought I would give it a try. Holy hell was that a big mistake! It made it 10 worse. Any suggestions on how to cool it down. I've tried soap and water to no avail. I'm an idiot.

Well, I'll scratch that remedy off my list.

Since that stuff is made from chili peppers, my only suggestion is ice water. When I've burned my lips on buffalo wings, that's the only thing that helps.

Capsaicin is really difficult to handle. Many here including me, just cannot do it. For people with "deeper pain" and not burning type PN pain, however, it seems to work, after a week or so.

Biofreeze is very good for plain burning pain. It will cool you down, quickly. Available on Amazon and iherb now. It used to be a trade secret for chiros and PT therapists, but now you can buy it less expensive on those outlets.

But for me now... I've moved past Biofreeze, with the Morton Epsom lotion. This gives the longest relief IMO.

The Biofreeze gel is better than the roll on as it gives a more dense application.

I have it and have used it about 10 times. I thought I learned my lesson after the first time and I scrub my hands like crazy apter applying it. EVERY time I use it, I scrub my hands twice and use two different towels and still manage to get it in my eyes. I'm slick like that:p

I've use the Capsazin with Menthol for years and it was the only thing that would simmer down the pain until I stumbled on valerian root supplements and now I have the best feeling feet that I've had in 20yrs.... it calms the nerves... I take it in the morning to start my day and then as needed when my feet start to scream... Oh yes, and I do glove up when I rub the cream in.

Please do a search on posts by my username and see my post which details studies giving the scientific explanation of what capsaicin does to you and how long term use can actually cause damage.
