Foam Roller for trigger point therapy
I want to buy a roller to use on my trigger points in my back. Any recommendations? There are so many out there, it's overwhelming to decide. I realize everyone is a little different but I thought maybe I could get a sense of which have been helpful for people.

OPTP pro roller soft. Its soft but not too spongy so it does the job but gently

Maybe you could go to a gym or PT place and test the types & firmness they have , or a sporting goods store...
I just got a bare bones generic one but it is from 2005 I think , now there are so many new styles.. You could test with a tightly rolled large towel or blanket too. if too firm or too soft, it also depends on how severe your symptoms & pain levels are, what you can tolerate comfortably.. A tennis ball against wall or down on the floor worked well for me- easier to get into some of the triggerpoints than the larger foam roll edges... but some will always need a thumb or friend to get to them... |

Have you considered using a theracane or back buddy? I have trouble once I am on the ground. I need help up. Its not pretty as I can't use my arms to pull up or push down.... think beached harbor seal. Anyhow, I found this device and it allows me to adjust where and how much pressure to nearly every part of my body. PT suggested it to me and it has been the best $40.00 I ever spent. I simply did a google search for each name and found one that looked right for me. Good luck, D. |
