Pain at root canal site and Impacted wisdom tooth

Hi Bryanna,
I admire the honest opinion you have been giving everyone!
I had a root canal done middle of 2013 on my 31. i also have an impacted 32.
a few days after the procedure in 2013 i experienced a lot of pain and discomfort at the site, called my dentist and he prescribed some penicillin that worked. since then ive had mild on and off pain and discomfort. however, last week i developed this pain that gradually worsened. couldnt eat, sleep or function normally without popping pills. i went and got it checked out yesterday and on the xray the white stuff in the root canal looked broken and shifted (not sure what its called) . my dentist said i needed a crown for the tooth (cos i did not crown it back in 2013) but i told him id rather take it out cos of the continued discomfort its been giving me.
He has finally decided to take out my 31 and said the impacted 32 has to go as well, He put me on antibiotics and stronger pain meds. my appointment for the procedure is on saturday.
1.do you think i should just crown the tooth? it still hurts.
2.the impacted tooth also does not bother me although i fear it might be the one causing the 31 to hurt (cos its growing totally sideways). do i have to take it out?
im under 30 and ive had 1 extraction done before, i feel bad about taking out two teeth at once (to make it 3):icon_sad:
pretty please tell me what you think.
Thank you so much!
Cathy.
