Omega 3 supplement for inflammation

Has anyone found any benefit to using omega 3 supplements for nerve inflammation and pain related to CRPS?

I take a fish oil supplement day 3 times a day. The potential benefits are to help maintain reasonable cholesterol levels and possibly reduce inflammation.

Like pretty much all supplements, it's almost impossible to measure any true benefits. Supplements make a lot of claims. So it's difficult to say if they are helping or not. But I do take them.

Hello Swimtime,

Decreasing inflammation during times of injury is always good and this is a known benefit of Omega 3. Also good for a teen's growing brain! I take Omega 3 everyday and I don't know of course if it is relayed but inflammatory markers on blood tests for me, sed rate, c reactive protein were lmost undetectable. Free radical scavengers are also good. N acetyl cysteine and vit. c of course. One thing, Omega 3 does thin the blood a little so they recommend stopping it before any kind of surgery.

Yes

I take it 3 times a day as well, though I can't be sure why my inflammation had gone down. It certainly doesn't hurt to try, as long as you don't take too much. Follow your doctor's recommendation on dosing. Hope this helps.

Keep in mind that you want to balance omega 3 with omega 6.
