Confused

Hi, I've never posted on a thread so I hope im doing it correctly, forgive me if I'm not please. I need help, I suffered a concussion almost 3 months ago & I have had (still working with some of these) headaches nausea memory loss dazed etc but the last couple weeks my fuse is super short, extremly hot & burns forever. Then I get so depressed after these episodes of blowing up and being unreasonable etc that I have even considered suicide. Don't be alarmed, I'm not going through with it but I realize how bad off I am. This personality is not me. I have no idea what to do which adds to the depression. Any suggestions ?

I am 3.5 years with PCS. The first thing I would do if I were you is find a good neuro-opthamologist. Vision is often affected with serious concussions that don't heal after 3 months so I'd want to find out if there is anything that can be done to alleviate some of your symptoms(tinted glasses in my case). I waited 1year to see one and it made life bearable.

Find a good rehab dr that specializes in concussion. you need to rule out vestibular/inner ear issues. Lots of sleep. Exercise at some point is going to key. Not sure what you can tolerate now. PM of you have questions. I could go on. Skype would be easier to communicate. GL

Hi Bren,

Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups.

I'm sorry you're dealing with the mood swings. It's really worth talking with your doctor about that before it continues too long I think. Mood swings are not that uncommon and many here will understand what you're going through.

I just wanted to also say that there is a wealth of helpful information in the Sticky threads at the top of the forum. You are not alone.

Bren,

I just saw this....you,aren't alone!

This is a hard road and comes with a lot of unexplained moments.

I am 11.5 months out and have gained a lot of ground back but sometimes I too can get short or teary as I realize I still have a ways to go.

The good news is somehow we find strength to get going again, I rely on God a lot but I am certainly amazed at the human spirits desire to keep going forward.

My Best to your future.

Bud
