Curcumin/Turmeric

I have researched this supplement on the internet and it is said to have a lot of beneficial effects: anti-inflammatory, anti-depressant to name a few.

Does anyone have any experience with this supplement? Side effects?

Does anyone recommend taking it for PCS?

All input would be greatly appreciated as I'm thinking of adding it to my daily stack.

Thanks,
Danny

Danny, turmeric is one suppliment I think on which I have high hopes on along with high dose fish oil. It has so many benefits on our brains like reducing inflammation, mild to moderate antidepressant and also studies show that it might help generate new brain cells and heal your brain! Its absolutely a wonderful and cheap source to combat brain injures so it's worth a try in my opinion. Turmeric and fish oil I think are ideal and absolutely necessary after a brain trauma.

I took Turmero Active K75 made by Apex Energetics along with Neuro-Flam, Liqua-D, Brain-E DHA for a month after being suggested to by my doctor to reduce inflammation. This was in conjunction with a strict paleo-diet. The results were marginal if at all. I've since had blood work done and have focused my vitamin and calorie intake based off of the blood work results. Turmeric may work for you, it just didn't for me. However, I have seen significant improvement over the past two weeks since i've started physical therapy with a functional neurologist. I'm now taking the Brain-E DHA still, a liquid vitamin B, Liqua-D, Methyl-SP, and Proton-Plus (for protein breakdown). When I had blood work down I found I had very low cholesterol, which is linked to depression. I was very depressed while on the original supplement regiment but am now eating 6 whole eggs every morning to to get my cholesterol up and my mood has been significantly better along with other improvements. Truth is you need to give you brain the proper environment to heal, which the diet and supplements will do. These things are not a cure, but will help you along in the recovery process. I highly recommend having blood work done and having it interpreted by someone who's capable and rehearsed in the area.

Galaxy,

What you said is exactly what I've read online. I wish more people would post their experiences with it to see if it actually works. I am hopeful for its anti-inflammatory effects.

Hockey,

Wow! That's a lot of information. I mean that in a good way. I will have to check out some of the substances you mentioned. Thanks for the heads up about Curcumin. I'm still undecided!

It seems that people are split on whether or not Curcumin is worth taking. In my experience, I can't notice a direct effect but it may be helping as part of my whole stack. It is a little pricey to keep taking without definite benefits.
