How long does it take to recover?

If I have TOS that was caused by repetitive strain, how long would that take to recover from? It's been 6 months since I lifted a weight or did a push up because I can barely even lift dishes.
So I thought if this injury was my own doing, that the muscles would shrink down and in time the nerves and the rest of my body would reorder it self. Not happening. My darn shoulders and neck just want to keep spasming and my arms are terribly weak and shaky. Any thoughts? JoMar?

I am wondering about the same thing. My TOS symptoms caused by repetitive strain from computer work.
Unable to lift much for the past 6 months.
I am seeing some improvements, but they come very slow.

It sounds like irritated nerves take a couple of years to calm down.

Overall I guess it depends on what kind of treatment & self care is being done.
Improper treatment can be a big negative, but you have to try things to see what works for you. Then be consistent with it.

But it can take a long time, for me 2.5 yrs to get past the worst of it - I 'm guessing about a year of that was delayed & wasted due to work comp system.. but have to jump thru the hoops..
I was only starting to learn about TOS then too..

Did you have surgery?

No, luckily I was able to stop work before things got really bad.. My dr didn't know much about TOS, but at least she did write strict restrictions, trying to help, until I couldn't do anything offered at employers at all. I did patrol the parking lot for 2 months, work restriction was "no hand use at all"
