Has anyone tried ashwagandha for sleeping?
I was on amitryptiline 25mg a while, but the side effects were too severe to continue taking it for my sleeping issues, even though it helped me a lot to sleep better.
I came across ashwagandha, also known as 'sleep berry'. Has anyone of you tried it? Has it the same strong effect as amitryptiline? |
I take ashwagandha daily half tsp powder form with milk and sleep like a baby! I get at least 4 hours uninterrupted sleep at one go. Its the best alternative to drugs without any side effects and immediately calms me down. Feels very soothing to my nervous system. Worth trying specially in PCS in my opinion

Can this be bought anywhere? or specific health food stores

Ashwagandha, brahmi, gotu kola, shatavari are some of the globally renowned herbs and extremely popular for anxiety and depression. These are known to produce the same effects as antidepressants and antianxiety meds without any side effects if taken cautiously and calm down the nervous system and promote sleep. Its easily available on amazon, eBay, etc. Some of the popular brands which I prefer is Himalaya, planet ayurveda, organic India, life extension and there are many many others
Ashwagandha has shown to promote regeneration of brain cells in recent studies |
How big were your sleeping issues, were you ever on amitryptiline galaxy?
In my case I would tend to say, that a natural substance, like ashwagandha was not strong enough during my hard times. Now I will certainly give it a try. I found a product, that contains 300mg ashwagandha and 1 mg Melotonin(sleeping hormone). What dose do you take galaxy? |
