Alternative medicine
has anyone been helped by a chiropractor?
|
Not me. I tried 4 sessions. Was only helpful in that he was convinced it was all spine related. It made me feel less terrified of what was happening to me. Once I realized it wasn't so simple, I stopped going.

Well... I use magnets myself. Have for years! I have a thread here you can search, specifically for pain relief at night. I have found that very strong gauss magnets will block pain for several hours (when used for about 20minutes as needed). It seems that they block overactive nerve firing. (in a way similar to magnesium lotion).
I've been using supplements for over a decade. I use several topical interventions, for various symptoms. I have used diet manipulation to help ease symptoms too. Mostly burning. Avoidance of gluten, nightshade veggies. Control of sweets, etc. But I do cheat now and then without much relapse. One thing I just cannot tolerate is MSG food additive, however. I do limit alcohol to very infrequently... filtered vodka. I cannot tolerate beer or wine. I do not smoke either. I have used a chiro twice (4 visits in all) 3 for a dislocated knee and one adjustment in the thoracic area. These were not PN issues. I have had ultrasound and iFc treatments for a tendon injury for 3 months in the past. I have had my feet taken care of several times by a good podiatrist. I just live with the PN... I've had it almost 40 yrs now. My hands are much better, but my feet seem stable with modest flares etc which don't last very long. I do not get vaccines. |
Many options to consider...
[Complementary, Alternative, or Integrative Health: What’s In a Name? ] [Many Americans, nearly 40 percent, use health care approaches developed outside of mainstream Western, or conventional, medicine for specific conditions or overall well-being. When describing health approaches with non-mainstream roots, people often use the words “alternative” and “complementary” interchangeably, but the two terms refer to different concepts:] https://nccih.nih.gov/health/whatiscam http://www.mayoclinic.org/healthy-li...e/art-20045267 |
The chiropractor did help my husband with his gait and balance. Completely restored his gait to normal with one adjustment. The balance issue took longer. The pain and burning were helped more with supplements/nutrition, using the Rebuilder, reflexology and essential oils.
It's been a long, slow journey. Still not 100% resolved but pretty darn close. |
Some good and some not
