Pain in the teeth?
I am slowly getting over a bout of pneumonia and went back to see my GP (I live in the UK) earlier this afternoon because I was wondering if the second antibiotic, Clarithromycin, might be causing this toothache. She just gave me an inhaler and said it was all viral in origin (flu) and gave me an inhaler to help my breathing. I am really struggling with this mouth pain and have a diagnosis from a dentst of TMJD.
I explained to my GP, who skin biopsied my legs last week, that the mouth pain is getting worse and so is the cold, wet tingling sensation in my legs and feet. She shrugged and said some kind of Raynauds and told me she has many patients this year with my symptoms apart from my jaw and teeth and the SFN. She didn't think the toothache/ jaw issues were drug related. I then went to the pharmacist to collect my inhaler and asked her about my symptoms in relation to the prescription drugs I take. She was baffled but said she thought the most likely thing causing this pain in my teeth and jaw is my small fiber neuropathy as there are so many nerves around the teeth. Is this likely? |

Nerve related issues scare me far, far more than joint pain does - but the medical profession seem to be in the opposite boat. I guess if the neuropathic symptoms were happening to them for no aparant reason they would wake up and be equally scared! |
I believe that chronic sinus inflammation will refer to the teeth.
I get this now and then. I use a decongestant orally to shrink the congestion, and then guiafenesin to help move out the junk before it becomes infected. I also noticed a big improvement in my throbbing upper teeth, when I did the Candida cleanse with NOW Candida support. I used it for 3 weeks, then had a huge Herx GI event, and stopped. It really helped my dry mouth and night-time throbbing I was getting. The sphenoid sinus is in back of your nose, and not in the front like the others. When it clogs up your whole head can suffer. |

I don't feel clogged up in my head as I have with previous colds and viruses - the pain is all in my teeth and the rest of me. I can breathe through my nose just fine and nose sores and bleeds have stopped for the past few weeks too. I've not come across any of the meds you have taken but I don't think it's oral thrush with me as I've had my mouth checked out by doctors and dentists quite recently and it's not on my tongue. However the nerve pain has come roaring back in my feet and ankles again over the past 12 hours - not hot and burning anymore - just pure pain. Feels terribly similar to what's going on in my teeth now. I get the skin biopsy stiches taken out of my calves tomorrow so hoping this may help and that the results may reveal something at last. |
The Candida releases aldehydes into the blood stream -- this is the toxic byproducts of the yeast's metabolism. Aldehydes are the culprit-- not actual lesions in the mouth.
It is the aldehydes that cause the grief for the nerves too, in people who drink too much alcohol. I can breathe thru my nose just fine, but my head would clog up...when I laid down at night. Alot of pain and fullness at the back of my neck as well. PN due to aldehyde build up from metabolism toxins, is like a hangover 24/7 |

Also I seem to get different horrible tastes on many different drugs and wonder if this could be ENT related rather than relating to my GI system as I'd previously assumed. My GP just mocked me over the Guillaine Barre suggestion last week despite the fact that I have so much neuropathy in my feet and legs just now. Time to move away from GPs who think I'm more resiliant than I am methinks! |
The Candida lives mostly in the bowel.... it flourishes when you take antibiotics which kill off the beneficial organisms that keep the Candida in check.
The OTC products are not drugs... they have an acid in them that kills the Candida, and other support herbs. This one gets lots of good reviews and I know someone on NT who used it with success and recommended it to me: http://www.iherb.com/product-reviews...-Caps/462/?p=1 I also use Kefir to restore beneficial organisms. Lifeway brand has 12 strains and is quite good. I just ordered a probiotic this week by NOW... that is also rated in the top 10 probiotics by an independent lab: http://www.iherb.com/Now-Foods-Probi...3&sr=null&ic=1 There are RX drugs for Candida... Nystatin, and the more toxic Diflucan. I think doing it naturally is better and works for most people. |

Just a reminder:
Fruit and honey contain fermentable sugars...the Candida will ferment these in your bowel. Doing the Candida support, requires deleting temporarily from the diet, sugars. Once the Candida load, is reduced well, you can add them back in slowly and see what happens. I noticed a big improvement in my sinus congestion, my energy and clearer thinking. To help with those nose bleeds, make sure you are getting enough Vit A and C....those vitamins strengthen the membranes. And so do Omega-3's. A good multivit with therapeutic amounts of A and C may help with recovery. |
