Feels like frostbite?
 

Not sure how to describe this but here goes:

You know when you are outside in the cold winter and your hands and feet get very cold and begin to hurt and they become very sensitive to vibration or impact. Even a minor impact with your hand causes intense stinging pain that takes a while to abate.

If you've ever played sports in the very cold air you know the feeling well. Vibration of a bat or club in your hands can be agonizing.

Also, if you ever have gotten frostbite or near frostbite you know the searing pain that happens as blood comes back into your fingers and toes.

Anyway, my neuropathy has started to feel like this constantly. Any minor impact to my hands and fingers produces a searing pain that is exactly like described above. And at rest if feels exactly the same as when your recovering from frostbite or near frostbite.

I wonder if my problem is lack of blood flow to the nerves or something similar? Anyone have this problem?

Yes, I have had this pain described... I also had severe severe carpal tunnel when I was pregnant.. I lost 80% of my hand nerve activity according to the EMG done then.

So even though my hands improved alot after my son was born, I always had problems with them temperature wise.

Now I wear fingerless gloves to bed (I keep my bedroom cool)...
and it really helps. Last summer I had to wear them upNorth at the lake it was so cold all summer. I start wearing gloves outside in autumn and thru winter til the end of spring.

I think it is a combination of my hypothyroidism, (even with medication), and Raynaud's which many PNers or those with autoimmune issues. My hands can get really cold when I am really hungry too. I tend to have low blood sugar in late afternoon and early morning.

Yup, My feet and lower legs feel like they have frostbite at times. It doesn't hurt more when they are touched though, it just hurts. I have been trying to tell myself that I must have always had cold feet and now I am just paying attention to it and exacerbating the feeling. But, maybe not. I

I know the feeling well!! More noticeable in my hands. My fingers and thumbs will cramp and lock. They also will twitch. My feet are completely numb. I am still hopeful. Nothing chronic has been discovered. Nothing muscular or vascular. Good Luck and God Speed!

Yes, I have it in my hands some days worse than others. Not as badly as you are describing though.
I also have something similar in my legs and feet.
Our poor nerves.

Sounds more like RAYnauds phenomenon, it can cause all the symptoms you are having. and neuropathy. Frostbite is a much more serious and lifethreatening condition, where the lack of blood/frozen blood, causes cell death, hench the black skin.
raynaud is usually as a result of an underlying condition.
