Pinched nerve in elbow or neck

I have experienced tingling sensations mainly on the underside of my forearm since last summer., but also traveling tingling here and there in my arm. I only felt if when on the computer which I only used for a short period of time each instance. My GP didn't send me to a specialist but recommended an EMG which I had to wait for an appt. 5 months to be exact but the doc retired before I could see him. I saw an occupational therapist who said if it is compressed it may work itself out if I changed positions on the computer. She failed to tell me that it could be pinched in my elbow. She retired too. Last Friday I had tingling from the top of my hand all the way up my arm. Then the tingling went to my ring finger and pinky. But I also had tingling on top of my hand near my thumb. It lasted all day and I refrained from using the computer since. I have then had slight pain in my wrist and hand/fingers.

(I feel I have not had the typical symptoms of ulner nerve entrapment.)

What is scaring me is the feeling of muscle straining or weakness of sorts when I do everyday stuff. This started last Friday. When I raise my arm above my head it almost feels like my arm will fall asleep, then I feel a muscle burn. My chiropractor wants an MRI which I need my GP order.

I was just hoping to hear any information/comments that about the muscle strain and RSI. I do not feel any tingling or pain since I have refrained from sitting at my computer desk.

Sorry for the long post. I posted here because it appears there is not much activity in the RSI subgroup of TOS group. I am also visiting the TOS posts too.

From what you describe I'd suggest reading on our TOS forum
( http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum24.html )
and the sticky threads there-
useful sticky - post #1 has many links of info for TOS , RSI, and other related symptoms-

many things to try, some you can do on your own to help relive some of the symptoms.

Welcome Sarah,

I think it is positive you are at least getting relief when you refrain from sitting at your computer desk. It sounds like there is definitely something going on with that. Figuring out where the problem is will be key. Hopefully your MRI will give some info. Sometimes even simple xray can show compression. I have some compression at C5-6 and osteophytes which was found on xray by an orthopedist. Even though the compression is mild it was causing symptoms with certain positions and activities. The good news? a few adjustments in my routine and identifying what set it off have made a HUGE difference.

take care, I hope you find relief and answers soon
Sending Healing Love,
Littlepaw
