Medical Marijuana for Chronic Pain...
For those of you who have tried medical MJ for chronic pain, would you share it's effectiveness for you personally. I live in the USA, in a state where it is allowed
YET, When I asked my pain doc if I could try it, he said he can only script it for the conditions Allowed in the bill.(see below). My doc apologized and suggested I contact my senators asking them to get chronic pain added to the list. Honestly, it would be easier to get illegally. Do any of you live in a state where it IS allowed for chronic pain? Thanks, wishing you all a low pain day. D. QUALIFYING CONDITIONS Cachexia Cancer Crohn's disease Epilepsy Glaucoma HIV or AIDS Intractable spasticity Multiple Sclerosis Parkinson's Disease Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) Other medical conditions may be approved by the Department of Consumer Protection |
I live in a state where it is about to be approved. However, the conditions you list are what they will allow. Actually there are eight conditions for us. Nothing else. True in some other states as well.

Oh D
Why does it have to be so damn hard, how many hoops to we have to haul ourselves through to prove we are in pain and it is debilitating.

I am from Ontario, Canada, and here they allow medical marihuana. I have thought about it for my chronic pain, but just waiting in the hope that I might get fixed but not happened yet, so likely I might end up medical marihuana at some point. Here the conditions they allow for are

Here are the conditions for which use is allowed in the UK:
NONE! Often debated, but the POLITICAL Concensus is that people may enjoy it :D Opiates and hallucinatory Ketamine are fine  Dave. |
Well I can tell-ya first hand Yes. It works. I'm an old burn out and used to do it as a kid, daily up until I was about 30 yrs old. Haven't done it in about 20 yrs until I met someone that was suffering from a Brain tumor and she smoked daily, because of suffering from Seizures. Smoking pot, for her worked to bring her Episodes down to about only 1 a month.
Anyways I'm a Chronic pain sufferer for over 10yrs now and have used opioid therapy to control my pain and to only bring it to an acceptable level. I did smoke some and first off weed is a lot stronger now. A lot stronger. It works and works differently, than say taking a few pills, but still works Here is a link to the lists of problems one has to have in Illinois to get the card Well it was from Illinois.gov Qualifying Debilitating Medical Conditions What debilitating medical conditions make a patient eligible for the program? I personally think God (or who ever you believe in) is looking down at us laughing. Most drugs are derived from plants. The plant is here to help us. I have tried percocet, oxy, morphine, lyrica, gabba, opana, savella, amitrip, fentynal....I could go on and on. Then one day an old lady came up to me in the gym (I was crying) she asked me if I had ever tried marijuana? I thought HOW stupid am I? It took me several months to find what worked best for me. They have so much to offer, sprays, edibles, smoke etc. I finally found a chocolate bar that helps sooo much.
To describe it is ..it makes me feel fluffy. Not stoned. Its like I dont give a crap that I have this disease. I can totally function and with a better attitude. It takes away my icky anxiety, nervousness, my brain calms down , nausea is so much better. I went to my PC and asked if I could get Marinol a synthetic marijuana pill that helps cancer patients . It helped but I had to take 5 pills or 25mg which still isnt much but any help was great. Then she cut me off. That isnt right. When I finally found something that helped especially along with a small piece of chocolate and then to be told you cant have that? Yes I'm angry. I told my doc which is better for me Morpine or a piece of chocolate. If you all havent watched Sanja Gupta's documentary called "Weed" you should. The CBD properties in the MJ can do miracles. It honestly has kept me alive. smile and try to bring some happiness into your life |
