Pinched nerve in elbow or neck

Pinched nerve in elbow or neck

I have experienced tingling sensations mainly on the underside of my forearm since last summer, but also traveling tingling here and there in my arm. I only felt if when on the computer which I only used for short periods of time in each instance. When I told my GP about it I had mentioned that I think nursing my 2 yr may have inured my arm. I noticed irritation in June 2014 but continued breastfeeding and did not see my GP until September. My GP didn't seem it was much to be concerned with or did not make me believe it could be serious. She did not send me to a specialist but recommended an EMG, which I had to wait for an appt., 5 months to be exact, but the doc retired before I could see him. I discontinued breastfeeding in mid September. I saw an occupational therapist who said if it is compressed it may work itself out if I changed positions on the computer. Since I stopped breastfeeding I felt the problem would resolve. She failed to tell me that it could be pinched in my elbow. She retired too. Last Friday I had tingling from the top of my hand all the way up my arm. Then the tingling went to my ring finger and pinky. But I also had tingling on top of my hand near my thumb. It lasted all day and I have refrained from using the computer since, except to make this post. I have then had slight pain in my wrist and hand/fingers earlier this week.

(I feel I have not had the typical symptoms of ulnar nerve entrapment. I have tingling sensations on top and under my arm, on top and under of forearm, near shoulder, wrist and on top of all fingers – not all at the same time. The main sensations are associated with my wrist and under the forearm. Just recently I have had slight elbow pain when it is bent.

What is scaring me is the feeling of muscle straining or weakness of sorts when I do everyday stuff. This started last Friday. When I raise my arm above my head it almost feels like my arm will fall asleep and then I feel a muscle burn. My chiropractor wants an MRI which I need my GP order.

I was just hoping to hear any information/comments about the muscle strain and RSI. I have not felt any tingling or pain since I have refrained from sitting at my computer desk. And now as I have been typing, I have no symptoms. I am wearing a wrist splint, which I know is helping 100%. There is a little elbow discomfort.

Sorry for the long post. I posted here because it appears there is not much activity in the RSI subgroup of TOS group. I am also visiting the TOS posts too.
