So simply, so amazing!

Hello everyone, I'm back to talk about the high-dose thiamine taken for Parkinson's disease. First, I must specify that I am 46 years old, the diagnosis was made about 8 years ago, my symptoms are bradykinesia and rigidity, motor fluctuations, wearing off, ON period lasting about 3 hours, lately all my symptoms were worsening rather quickly, compared to previous years. It had become, for me, a nightmare, it was practically very difficult, even just stay home and do nothing. My medications were Stalevo 150mgx3, and Neupro 16mg / 24h. Although until about two months ago, could keep the symptoms rather well in recent weeks less and less effective. How are my character, I have not given up, and contacting Dr. Costantini, he was immediately shown very human and understanding with me, assuring me that once I had started treatment with thiamine IM, the disease would be halted until where unfortunately had arrived, but the dopaminergic neurons that still were not dead, not only would be saved, but also restored their functionality. In short, I started therapy, but after 4-5 injections, nothing seemed to have changed, but after another 2-3 almost suddenly, I felt much more toned, more sure of myself when I walked, sleeker mentally, and my periods ON went from 2-3 hours to 5-6 hours. Not badly. Even the drugs themselves had much effect on me. I must also say, that for some weeks I started to take on a mushroom incredible, indescribable properties, the Ganoderma Lucidum or Reishi. To be taken in the morning, activating it with a cup of hot green tea and ginger slices let steep for about 20 min. and immediately after a glass of vitamin C.
By following these simple rules, have been able to return to work, and drive the car. These things, that until a few weeks ago seemed science fiction. Here is a useful link of Dr. Costantini, where there are also videos, with the authentic testimonies of ordinary people, before and after care. Unbelievable.

PS: Obviously this is not the cure, it acts on the symptoms, the drugs should not be discontinued! If however you can live better, why not? Zero side effects, drug interactions zero.
PPS: clearly the videos are in Italian, but the images speak for themselves.

I cannot tell you how great it is to see a doctor following thru in Thiamine! I myself have played with it orally. For me it's taken a special form of thiamine called allithiamine (derived from garlic and most import, it crosses the BBB, which most oral B1 does not).

Ready for another kick? Try B2 in addition. Here's alink to my conversation about both of these B vitamins ..

Here's a study on b2 from brazil ..

Thanks again for posting and best of luck to you!

High-dose thiamine as initial treatment for Parkinson's disease.

Abstract

Parkinson's disease (PD) is a systemic disease with motor and non-motor deficits. We recruited three patients with newly diagnosed PD. They were not under anti-Parkinson's therapy. Plasmatic thiamine was within healthy reference range. We performed the Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) and started a parenteral therapy with high doses of thiamine. The therapy led to a considerable improvement in the motor part of the UPDRS ranging from 31.3% to 77.3%. From this clinical observation, it is reasonable to infer that a focal, severe thiamine deficiency due to a dysfunction of thiamine metabolism could cause a selective neuronal damage in the centres that are typically hit in this disease. Injection of high doses of thiamine was effective in reversing the symptoms, suggesting that the abnormalities in thiamine-dependent processes could be overcome by diffusion-mediated transport at supranormal thiamine concentrations.

Sim00,

I was wondering if you could give me more details on the IV thiamine.

Was it a single treatment? If not, how often?

Do you know how much was given?

Do you know the details of the type of thiamine?

Thanks, and congrats for fighting back and getting a victory!

Do I understand you to say that when you started the B1 IM, you also began taking Ganoderma Lucidum and/or Reishi, with hot green tea and ginger
after a glass of Vitamin C?

Also, how many times a day are you doing the IM and what is the dose of each injection? Thanks for sharing your experience, so happy you are feeling better:)

Dr. Constantini and patent for B1

Here is the link: http://www.google.com/patents/WO2012147003A1?cl=en

Great explanation of the mechanism of action, IMHO, and it makes sense to a layman like me:)

1 - It's not IV injection but it's Intramuscular injection.

2 - It's not a single treatment. Initially, after a neurological visit, the doctor decides, the proper amount, relatively to your own weight, and how long you have had the disease. (for example, for me, my weight is 80 Kilos, and the Hoehn Yahr scale rate is 2.5) I need a 100mg/1ml Thiamine hydrochloride IM injection twice a week.

3 - In Italy the commercial name is Benerva.

Thank you for your support, anyway we must remember this isn't the cure, but it helps all of us a lot, and hopefully it should halt the disease.

However the doc said that whoever tries this therapy surely responds (in different ways).

Many thanks Lurking. For the proper amount see the post above at point 3.

I'm very very happy, if this terapy could only just relieve the terrible symptoms that PD donates us. :grouphug:

There seems to be something to this Ganoderma. Thanks Sim00!
