Staying Cool
 

Hi everyone:

I need your advise about cooling devices.

I live in FL and the heat and humidity are their way up! My Neuro has written me an Rx for a cooling vest and I am not sure where to start.

Does anyone have experience with using a cooling vest or the cooling neck bandanas? I would appreciate any guidance or suggetions.

I have used the neck coolers on and off over the years. Heat really kicks my butt quickly so I'm pretty selective about where I'll go in it.

I found that having several in an ice chest I keep in my car has helped me stay cooler so that I can do more things outdoors. Ice is my main strategy though. I keep a couple of hand towels rolled with ice cubes nearby, I cool my feet, wrists, hands, and neck with them intermittently.

For me, the vest is not an option, I'm not ready to assume the weight, work, or discomfort of wearing one. I'm stubborn that way.
