Benedryl??
Can you take benedryl if you have MG?
|
Based on my experience, I would say yes. They give it to me IV when I have my IVIG to take care of any reactions.

I think you must be careful.
There's big difference in getting it premed if you're getting IvIg, because there's a chance the IvIg prevents a reaction otherwise. If you take it without IvIg, it may be a whole other thing. It is anticholinergic. If it's against allergy, there are probably other antihistamines with less anticholinergic effects. |
:p I been told on here by a few folks it's not-advisable, so I am careful.
(Although I possess 2 doctorates in the medical sciences, and taught residents for 20 years in post-grad education, nothing replaces the experiences and knowledge-base of diagnosed persons such as you-girls and guys, so when someone shares, I always listen!) I take Zyrtec D right now for seasonal breathing problems (along with the Singulair and Flonase). BUT, I am dual-dx with MS and MG, so every one is different. For example, treating my tardive dyskinesia in my case (we use Valium) is totally not recommended for many-many others. Good luck!! r- Quote:
